Temple Studios MCR is a hand-built creative studio in Sharston, South Manchester, offering long-term studio residencies to producers, DJs, podcasters, designers and artists — alongside DJ gear designed and built on the studio floor. Founded by Bailey Thornton, it was built by hand over seven months in a four-year-empty office, and is now home to a community of Manchester creatives.

The story
Temple Studios began as a four-year-empty office in Sharston, South Manchester. With no training and a lot of stubbornness, Bailey Thornton spent seven months building it out by hand — acoustically treating each room, plywood ceiling by plywood ceiling — into a set of private creative studios.
Today it’s a permanent home for serious Manchester creatives: producers, DJs, podcasters, designers and artists who want a fixed base rather than a room by the hour. Every residency includes all bills, superfast internet and 24/7 secure access. Temple also designs and builds its own DJ gear — including the NU Wave Pro USB — on the studio floor.
