Privacy.

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

• Residency applications — your name, email, phone number, artist or project name, links to your work, and the answers you give in the application form (including what you do, your budget, and how you'd use the space).
• Account details — your email address, a one-time email sign-in link (no password), and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile name and email.
• Payments — handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card or bank details; we keep records of your payments, amounts, dates, and status.
• Enquiries — your name, email, and message when you use the contact form or email us.
• Technical data — a secure login session cookie, and your shopping cart (stored locally in your own browser).

We use your information to:

• Assess and respond to residency applications and arrange viewings.
• Set up and manage your account and studio access.
• Take rent and shop payments and send you receipts and confirmations.
• Reply to your enquiries.
• Meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Our lawful bases are: performance of a contract (or steps to enter one), our legitimate interests in running the studio and communicating with you, your consent where you give it, and compliance with our legal obligations.

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the trusted service providers that help us run Temple Studios, who act on our instructions:

• Supabase — secure database and account authentication.
• Stripe — payment processing for rent and shop orders.
• Resend — sending transactional emails (confirmations, receipts, invites).
• Netlify — hosting this website.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information where required by law.

We keep cookies to the minimum. We use an essential cookie to keep you signed in to your account, and your browser's local storage to remember your shopping cart. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account and residency records are kept for the life of your relationship with us and a reasonable period after. Payment and invoicing records are kept for at least six years to meet UK tax and accounting law. Unsuccessful applications and general enquiries are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted.

Some of our providers (such as Stripe, Supabase, Resend, Netlify, and Google) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards — such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses — are in place to protect your information.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, email bailey.t@templestudiosmcr.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
